My brother has swelling and severe pain in his left leg, to look at it, it resembles Elephantitis. We have been to so many Drs., he had surgery on both legs for 'Venus Insuficiency'. One leg they did the old fashion way but the left leg they used a Laser. His swelling got better for a little while and then the left leg (lasered) balooned up so bad he can't even walk on it. The pain is mostly coming from his knee. Drs have found 2 marble size blood clots and have put him on blood thinner so no more clots will develop but they don't think that's what the problem is. He has been seeing a Sports Medicine Dr., a Primary Care Dr., has had several visits with Vascular Drs at Mayo clinic and no-one has been able to offer him any help or relief. He is on so many pain killers, including Morphine and Oxycodone which is only allowing him to almost bear the pain. The last Vascular Dr. he saw said there is nothing he can do for him. He's 63 and has many health problems but none with any of his vital organs. Heart is good, blood pressure good, doesn't need oxygen, all the usual checks have been positive. Not sure where to turn. He lives alone and the most he can do is use a walker to go back and forth from the bedroom to the kitchen and slowly take one step at a time. His condition has brought his life to a standstill. The only time he goes out is for Drs appointments and someone always has to take him and help. Not sure where to turn?
