My Dad who is 93 was on prednisone for 8 weeks earlier this year for Chrone's Disease. Apparently, no side effects. About two months later he has a return of symptoms (diarrhea/blood in stool) so restarted prednisone. Three weeks in on 15mg per day, his white blood count is extremely high and there is talk about a possibility of Leukemia. It is getting harder for him to breath, feet are swelling, has gotten a water-type blister on his face that disappeared two days later. Seems to be having all kinds of strange effects. Are they prednisone related?
