Movable Lump On Child's Cheek, Had Blister On Gums. Child Shows Discomfort On Touching. Concerned

I noticed a lump on my 2 and a half year old son's right cheek couple days ago. Its at the jawline. He also had a blister on his gum that we noticed 4 days back and took him to the dentist who suggested it could be due to cold and had nothing to do with his teeth. The lump is the size of a pea and moves around. My child shows discomfort when we touch him there. I am very concerned and have set an appointment with his pediatrician on Monday. I am confused if I should wait till Monday or take him to an emergency center. Please advise.

Hello,

The blisters can be of Aphthous stomatitis.

Rinse your child's mouth using lukewarm saline after every meals.

Allergic, acidic food stuffs has to be avoided.

Also make sure that your child is not impinging on his gums with nails or pins.

Vitamin b-complex as well as iron supplements has to be administered.

Hope this helps.

Hi,thank you and namaste. As you have noticed a lump on your 2 1/2 old son over the Rt.side of the face at the jaw line 2 days back and a blister on his gum 4 days back and dental cause is ruled out,the size being a pea which moves around and it seems it is painful.According to the history,it may be an infective etiology which needs consultation and treatment with broad spectrum antibiotics with anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve discomfort and pain.
