Mild Prostate Enlargement Seen In The Ultrasonography. Have Difficulty In Urination. Taking Veltam. Reduced Libido. Side Effect?

Hi! I'm Sambhu,a male, running 64 years with no major physical complains except slight interruption in urine flow. ultrasonography indicates mild prostate enlargement (vol-31.52cm3). Now I'm taking one veltam plus a day for last one month, prescribed by Dr. Shivaji Basu. As side effects I face reduced libido and ijaculation problem from the first day of taking the medicine. If the problems are temporary then I've no questions. Does it prolong and ultimately become a permanent problem? My urine flow problem is not severe. What's your suggestion? Should I continue the medicine?

Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have mild enlargement of prostate and you have been prescribed Tab Veltam Plus
Your present problem of loss of libido and ejaculation are due to side effect of this medication.
If you have mild enlarge prostate you may take plain Veltam instead of veltam plus. This will help you in regaining your libido.
However problem of retrograde ejaculation will be there due to side effect of this medicine
You will get normal ejaculation once you stop taking this drug.
If your urine flow problem is not severe you may not take the medicine.Discuss the issue with your Urologist.
