Menopausal, Thyroid Issue, Dry Skin, Upset Stomach. On Synthroid. Recommended Hysterectomy. Should I Go For It?

I'm writing this in frustration, since getting back from the Cleveland clinic having more test for my wife and her issues surrounding menopause/thyroid/and severe dry skin and multiple estrogen/thyroid dosage combinations that just don't seem to ever give her any relief for any length of more than a few days at the most, here we are 2 plus years later. She has haft a thyroid and all her blood test levels are and have been normal, however she has been told and has tried, at different dosages, synthroid & armor along with estrogen with progesterone and without progesterone again at different dosages either bio identical or not and now is on a patch that seems to cause pain and an upset stomach. The main problem is that without some combinations of the above her skin turns red, causes pain from the inside out, sometimes she has minor rashes, and her sensitivity to any and all medicines including the above has not given her any opportunity for consistent relief. She ask me the other day is there a place or university medical school she could to be a research project. She had her OB recommend and she had a hsyterectomy to help with her skin issues? Also she had her keep her ovaries? That was last July after many visits to her and many other doctors she had sent her to, including many specialties and what seems like hundreds of blood and other types of related test.

Any ideas sense I seemed to be rambling on.

Thanks for using HCM.Has she been seen by a Immunologist,Dermatologist and a Endocrinologist? It is possible that she has skin disease due to allergy from environmental allergens.A Endocrinologist would be the best person to address her hormonal issues. At times ,managing such disorders can be difficult and may take some time to resolve. Please be patient and keep faith.
