Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking

Claustrophobia or fear of crowds is a common anxiety disorder. You have fear to sit in flight and it is causing distress in your mind. In most of individuals behaviour therapy result in improvement. Behavioural methods like Systematic Desensitisation, Relaxation Exercises help to improve clinical symptoms. Progressive muscle relaxation exercise prevent severe anxiety. Try to divert your attention during anxiety provoking situations.

If the symptoms don't improve with behavioural methods then medicines are used. Medicines like SSRIs help to control the symptoms. Some medicines like propranolol help to control anxiety in anxiety provoking situations on SOS basis. You can consult a psychiatrist for prescription of medicines.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
