Massive Weight Gain, Have Headaches, Stuttering, Had Meningioma Removed. Taking Cymbalta. What Is It Related To?
I have been taking 180mg of cymbalta once a day for about a year. It has caused massive weight gain. I decided to cut the dose to 120 and did this for 4to 5 days. I ended up having a headache that lasted 2 days so I went back to 180 mg this morning. I began behaving manically - couldn't stop doing things in the house, my movements were rapid and out of my control. My body was shaking and I was mentally confused. My speech was so rapid that I was stuttering. I couldn't stop crying. I have never had an experience like this. I am 56 years old and had a meningioma removed 5years ago. Is my experience related to cymbalta. ? Thank you. Julie.
The symptoms described by you have not been reported for Cymbalta. The adverse effects are usually nausea, somnolence or insomnia, dizziness, dry mouth or sexual dysfunction. I would suggest that you discuss with your doctor for the reasons for prescribing Cymbalta and to examine you for some other reason for the behaviour and weight gain. A detailed clinical assessment will certainly point us to the correct reason.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
Wishing you all the best.
