MICROSCOPY: Smears Satisfactory For Evaluation. Endocervical / Transformation Zone Component

MICROSCOPY: Smears satisfactory for evaluation. Endocervical / transformation zone component present. Partially obscurring inflammation seen. Smears show sheets of superficial squamous & intermediate cells. Occasional benign endocervical cells are seen in clusters against mucinous background. Dense acute inflammatory cell infiltrate almost completely obscuring the cellular details is seen. Haemorrhage is seen. Many bacteria are noted. No evidence of intraepithelial lesion or malignancy in the smears studied. IMPRESSION :- NEGATIVE FOR INTRAEPITHELIAL LESION OR MALIGNANCY (NILM). INFLAMMATORY SMEAR. ADVICE :- Kindly repeat cytology study after control of infection.
