Lump In Middle Front Part Of Skull. Just Calcification?
I was rubbing my 3 yr old sons head and discovered a bony lump in the middle front part of his skull. He is not bothered by it, and is normal as far as learning skills and athletics. His next well apt is a month away. Is this just calcification from where his bones fused? I'm wondering if I need to take him in to check it out, or just wait.
From the information you have provided, I think this is no acute problem. Because it presents no discomfort or immediate threat to his health, I will suggest that there is no need in rushing to get this checked out. You should most likely wait for the next scheduled wellness visit in a month and report this to his doctor.
My greatest suspicion is that this is a bony prominence and nothing else. I wonder is any one would want to pursue any aggressive measure to make it disappear and for sure i wouldn't unless it poses esthetic concerns and sre that is not an issue now. It is not even noticeable and that's why you could only feel it while rubbing him.
In all, stay calm and relaxed.. Wait for his nest well appointment and report this. It represents no threat to him, at least for now.
I wish him well and hope this helps. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for clarifications. Dr. Ditah, MD
