Lump Behind Left Ear, Recurring Pain In Left Arm, Discomfort In Left Side Of Stomach, Back. Advice?

Hi, Im a 30yr old woman. I have had a lump behind my left ear for around the last six months. The lump is not painful, but is now approximately 1.5 - 2cms in size. The glands in my neck on this side are also prominent. Aside from this I have a reoccuring pain in my left arm, stemming from my shoulder down and discomfort in my stomach, along my ribs on the left side and down into my lower back. Would you have any advise for me please? Thanks

Hi there ~

With the description of the lump that you mention behind your left ear, it seems to me that you have a surgical problem, getting the lump removed and having it sent for pathological examination will give you the exact diagnosis of what the lump may be. Also, an FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) of the glands in your neck which are prominent for the same amount of time will give you the diagnosis of what kind of lumps they are and what treatment you need. With regards to your should pain radiating to your arm, a cardiac work up to rule out any cardiac origin of the pain would be in place (to rule out cardiac ischemia). I also think that you should visit with doctor to find out what is causing the stomach pain and back pain. You might need an upper GI endoscopy as well as imaging studies like x-ray of your lumbar spine and abdomen to find out what is going on. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
