Lightheadedness, Jittery Sensation, Low On Energy, Excessive Hunger, Cramps. Is It Due To Sugar?

Yesterday I was out for a run and about half way i started to feel light headed, jittery, and was very low on energy. This has happened before. I feel for some reason it is related to low sugar/high sugar. Right before I left for my run I had to eat something because I was very hungry. I ate a banana because in the past I have been able to run with no cramping after eating a banana BUT I have also felt this low energy/jittery feeling when I have eaten fruit prior to running
