Last week I fell against the edge of the kitchen counter - injuring the ribs of the lower left back. I have noticed improvement over the last several days (lessening of the soreness when coughing, moving, etc.). Today, however, the pain seems to be worse again. There has been no blood in sputum, urine or stool. Tylenol alone (1000 mgs) has little effect but adding 10mgs of oxicodone (from post-surgery pain control) reduces a great deal of the pain. I am reluctant to add the narcotic without further diagnosis. Is there a possibility of internal damage (spleen, kidney, etc.) that would not show other symptoms?
