Last night I had indigestion. I had pain that started under my left breast. Sometime the pain radiated throughout my breast and into my back. The pain progressed to my abdomen around my navel. I could feel it in my left side also. This lasted for hours. I first took about 1/8 tsp of soda in small amount of water. No relief. Later took an additional 1/4 tsp soda; still no relief. Later I took an over the counter prevacid. I gently rubbed my stomach and after a couple of hours, the pain subsided enough for me to go to sleep. About 3:15 am, I woke and the pain had returned. I burped a few times,and about 1 1/2 hours later, the pain finally stopped so I could go back to sleep I have not had any more pain today, but I am nervous that it may return. I felt as if I needed to burp, but couldn't. Any clue of what it might be?
