Large Swelling In Groin Area With Dull Ache In Stomach And Slight Constipation. Is It Cancer ?
Hi I have had a cold for a few days and felt quite tired. I then developed a dull ache in my stomach and was slightly constipated whilst rubbing my tummy I found quite a large swelling in my groin area. My doctor does not have any idea what it is he ruled out swollen glands as the swelling was too big and also ruled out a hernia. I am being sent for blood tests and a scan have you any idea what it could be - could it be cancer?
Hello Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Every lump or tumor is not cancer . As you didn't mention the site of this swelling , so very difficult to evaluate any diagnosis . This swelling may be .1 1 Splenomegaly ( enlargement of spleen ) ,if it is on the left side below rib cage.Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of abdomen. 2 Hepatomegaly i.e.enlargement of liver , if on the right rib cage side . 3 Impacted stool in the large intestine on the both side in lower abdominal region. In my opinion don't guess yourself . Consult a physician and get his opinion as physical examination is very important in such type of cases. Good luck. Dr. HET
