Large, Itchy Red Wheals On Body, Pus Oozing After Squeezing. What Is The Disease Called?
My 24-year-old daughter woke up with 3 large, red wheals on her body a few days ago; they were itchy. Each wheal had a tiny whitehead in the middle. Now, the one area has what feels like a golf ball sized lump under it--and she can squeeze pus out of it. She doesn't have health insurance, so what we're trying to determine is whether or not these areas will resolve on their own. She said they hurt/ache. She hasn't had fever or other symptoms with these areas.
I am so sorry to hear about what your daughter is experiencing. These have probable evolved to become abscesses. Generally, if she can squeeze the pus out of it completely, then it can heal all by itself. If she can't, then she would need to visit the hospital for it to be drained. Antibiotics are not routine and for now I don't think she needs any. However, pain medications to control her symptoms would be of help.
Because she woke up with these lesions from sleep, let her try to examine her bed very well to make sure there are not bedbugs that could have been the potential triggers of this
