Large Bump On Inside Of Wrist, Painful, Bruised, Swollen. No Bite Marks. What Could Be This?
Hi! I woke up this morning and I have a large bump on the inside of my wrist. It's hard and painful and it's bruised blue and red around the bump. No bite marks though. It's a bit swollen too, the wrist I mean. I don't know what could've caused this. I didn't run into anything, it wasn't there last night and it doesn't look like a bug bite.
Looks like you have developed a lesion of Vector dermatitis, also known as Paederus dermatitis.
Paederus dermatitis is a peculiar, irritant contact dermatitis characterized by a sudden onset of red lesions on exposed areas of the body. The disease is provoked by an insect belonging to the genus Paederus.
You need to apply an antibiotic/steroid combination cream over the lesion twice a day.
Take oral antihistamine once a day to decrease the swelling
Do not use any moisturizer till the time the lesion heals
