Knee Popping, Cannot Move, Hurts To Straighten Or Bend It. Should I Visit A Doctor?
The other day I was climbing down a shelf and my knee popped loudly several times and I couldn t move it. After resting it I was able to walk on it with mild pain. But recently its hurt to straighten or bend my knee completely and to move my knee cap towards the outside of my knee. it seems to be getting worse but I don t know whether I should visit a doctor. Any advice?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. From description it seems to be soft tissue or ligament injury . You need an x-ray to rule out any bony injury. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.Beside icing and elevating it, you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
