Knee Injury, Bruised, Discomfort, Hip Pain. Taking Ibuprofen And Emu Oil. Is This A Stress Fracture?
Hi! Mid August I fell on rocks on a beach. At the time I hurt my right knee which bruised and also right toes. These cleared and the next day I experienced discomfort around the upper femur/hip area on the left leg having landed on the left buttock. This cleared after about two days but now, over the last 2-3 weeks the pain in the femur/hip area is much worse when I sit down or have been walking especially when weight bearing. Could this be a stress fracture of the upper femur or a problem with the hip as hip problems are hereditary in my family with my mother and grandmother both having hip replacements? Taking ibuprofen and emu oil seems to help but not cure!
As per your symptoms there si possibility of hip and knee arrthritis.
When such patient comes to my hospital we usually take x ray to see for severity arthritis Some medication like analgesic will reduce pain, you can take them consulting your treating doctor.
If x ray shows any fracture then rest is needed or do MRI.
Also check your vit B12 and vit D3 in your blood. Hope this helps. Wish her a speedy recovery.
Take care
