Just Started With Homemade Ragi To Infant. Can Cerelac Or Farex Be Given As Substitute?

Sir,

My female baby is now 6 months old. We started to give home made ragi from the start of 5 months (two times dailt). But sometimes we have to go to outdoor and at that time we feel difficult to carry ragi and bolled water with us. Pl. advice whether we can take cerelac or farex or lactogen in rare cases as an alternate for ragi.

Thanks

firstly my advice is to continue breast feeding for ur child.
from 6-9 months give him 3 spoons of complimentary feed(eg.ragi java) for 3 to 4 times a day.that will suffice .
and u need to continue breast feeding.
secondly lactogen is a milk substitue.
you can use cerelac rice currently whenever u r out of ur place.but pls do remember to continue breastfeeding.
introduce one new variety of feed at a time.

thanks for ur query at hcm.
