I've Been Prescribed Cleocin CHL 150mg For A Pain In

I've been prescribed Cleocin CHL 150mg for a pain in my molar which had a root canal done 7 years ago. I crowned the tooth 3 months ago. It started acting up 2 days ago by hurting me and being sensitive to a bite and chewing. The pain is getting worse. The doctor didn't find anything wrong from the xrays but prescribed this ATB in case there is an infection. I hate to take ATB's just because unless I know 100% there is an infection. Is it a good idea to take the ATB? And if so, is this one safe? Thank you
