Itchy Rash On Arms, Thighs And Neck. Swelling In Lips, Forehead And Cheeks. Allergy?

I have a ichy rash on arms, thighs, neck. Sometimes my lip, forebead or cheek swells also. I am not on medication. The rash looks like hives, and eases up with an antihitamine. Could this be an allergy, stress, could rhumatoid arthrisitis or a neck injury cause these symptoms? Sometimes by the time I reach the doctor'a office there is no rash to show.

Hello
Welcome to healthcare magic
You seem to be suffering from urticaria. It is characterized by itchy red or skin colored raised wheals which is transient, that means appears in one place and soon disappears from there to appear somewhere else.

Urticaria is acute if duration is less than 6 weeks and chronic if duration is more than 6 weeks.

The most common cause of acute urticaria is food. Seafood, meat, poultry, egg, milk, apples, brinjal, strawberry, coloring agents etc are commonly implicated. It is subjective and any food can cause it. Other common causes are medicines, infections, insect bites etc.

Chronic urticaria can be auto immune. People with other auto immune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis can have increased chance of chronic urticaria.
It is better to check thyroid status as well. If you have dental caries and chronic sinusitis get it treated. Deworming also will help. If you are taking pain killers for the neck pain that should also be considered as a possible trigger.

Kindly consult a dermatologist for complete evaluation and treatment.
Hope this helped
Take care
