Itchy And Burning Rashes Around Armpits. Tried Cortisone Cream. Cure?

Hello Dr. I've developed a very itchy & burning rash around both armpits. I've tried cortisone cream & washing 2 or 3 times a day but nothing is working. I can't use deodorant because it burns so bad. This rash stated as a couple of small dry, bumpy looking spots under my right arm & now completely around the armpit of both arms....my own sweat makes it burn too. Any ideas to clear it up??

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
You might have developed fungal infection of your arm pits.
The same can be treated by
keeping the area as much dry as possible .
Avoiding use of deodorants.
Dust the area with antifungal powder like clotrimazole or terbinafine after bathing
Apply mild steroid antifungal cream twice in a day
Wear loose cotton clothes

Hope that would help you out
Take care
