Itching On Face And Scalp. Had Shingles. Is Tea Tree And Lavender Oil Good To Use?
3 mths post scalp and face shingles still severe itching, driving me mad. is tea tree and lavender oil good to use? When it runs down my neck , it leaves a rash which is uncomfortable also. Is it better to just use tea tree oil on its own? Sorry, I hadnt realised the fee, even though I really need the help, So Sorry to bother you

hi dear we are always there to help u. post shingles there is always an itch or pain which may persist even for a month. only tea and lavander oil wont help much. u need some soothing or cooling agent like calamine lotion. also an antihistamine tablet for 15 days ll be good. dont worry these tab dont have much side effect. hope u get well soon

To treat post herpetic itch, treatment options are-
Oral anti itch drugs like diphenhydramine, cetirizine, doxepine,hydroxizine etc
Pregablin or gabapentin
Topical therapies like calamine lotion with camphor or menthol, capsaicine, lidocaine gels sprays or patches, steroid creams or lotions
Tea tree oil with lavender oil in a carrier oil like coconut oil or olive oil, camphor in coconut oil are claimed by some to offer relief. However there are not much scientific evidence to prove or refute the clais. Nevertheless, these could be tried.
