Is Yellowish Mucous With Bronchitis Sign Of Pneumonia?
I have been suffering from bronchitis for over a week and have been taking two Keflex tablets twice day since Friday. My coughing during the day has subsided, however, at night, the mucous wakens me with a severe coughing bout. My mucous has been clear . This morning I did notice a yellowish color. I have been pushing fluids and notice my energy level decrease. How would I know if this turns into pneumonia? I am a non-smoker.

In my opinion you may have either pneumonia or bronchitis.
Yellowish sputum suggest infection. You also feel low energy. Which is again a sign of infection.
So get done chest x ray to rule out pneumonia.
Get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to rule out bronchitis.
So I advice you to consult pulmonologist first and get done above things.
You may need higher antibiotics too.
