Hello,

High intake of zinc was associated with a reduced risk of Crohn's disease but not of ulcerative colitis. The effect was more prominent for zinc intake from diet when compared with zinc consumed as supplements. Further studies on the effect of zinc to modify disease outcomes are warranted.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
