Is White Dirt Intake Advisable During Pregnancy?

I am a 29 years old, pregnant with twin boys, African-American woman. I have only eaten a dime sized amount of white dirt every now and then before this pregnancy. Now, with this pregnancy, I crave white dirt on a regular basis. What are the negative effects or side effects of eating this non-food item while preganant or not? Or how much is too much?

Welcome. I can understand your concerns.

Its really disastrous and devastating for your health and well-being. It also poses high risk to the fetus. Soil contains lots of spores of different parasites that may infect you. And if, you are seriously ill how can you take the pregnancy normal as it should have to be.

Please consult a nutritionist for the workup, as he is expert in assessing your body needs. Its a habit and it can be due to some nutritional deficiency.

Are you regular at prenatal visits?
Are you taking prenatal medicine regularly?

Hope it helps.
