Is Weight Lifting A Reason For High Levels Of SGOT And SGPT?

Hello, I am 30 years old male. Two days back I had blood and urine tests after getting dark color urine for a day (Keeping in mind that I am doing weight lifting for past 6 days, and the test was done on 6 & 7th day). The output was SGOT 970 & SGPT 255 with blood and protein in urine. Next day again had the same test and now SGOT raised to 1205 and SGPT 369 with negative blood and protein in urine. Is weight lifting could be the reason for high levels of SGOT and SGPT?

Hi I am Dr Fahim and I will help you with your problem

I have gone through your question and understood your concerns. Yours SGOT (AST) and SGPT (ALT) are raised, and your are thinking that it might be because of doing weight lifting. I dont think so, as SGOT (AST) shows damages of liver and heart cells while SGPT (ALT) indicates damages of liver cells only. In my opinion some viral hepatitis is going on, which is usually associated with lethargy, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting. You need to see a medical specialist, who after assessment will guide you through further course of action.

I hope my answer will help. Do rate it, If you like it.
