Is Weight Gain A Side Effect Of Estrogen And Progesterone?
Hi Dr. Rynne: I am on estrogen and progesterone because I recently went through a frozen embryo transfer. I don t know yet if I am pregnant. I am wondering if weight gain is a side effect of these drugs. I have put on several pounds over the last few weeks - and I am constantly hungry. I am wondering if I need to cut back on my food intake or this is a normal side effect. Thank you! Emily
Hormonal medications can be associated with weight change so it is possible that it would have contributed to your weight gain.
Maintaining a healthy diet would help to prevent any further weight gain so this is a good idea. When you have the urge to eat, the use of healthy foods instead of foods that may cause weight gain would be best.
I hope this helps
