Is Weakness And Tiredness Normal After Angiogram Procedure?

Hi Doctor, my brother had a mild heart attack a month ago? And continuous to having been very tired every day. So he went back to hospital, and was given this ECG attached hours 24 observation and sent to heart centre for check, and the result was not good. Accdg to the Dr his heart stops 4x in the early morning. So yesterday they did Angiogram and thanks God there were no blockage but the Dr advise us that it is safer to put a PACEMAKER. Doctor my question is, it it normal to fell tired and weak after the Angiogram? Kindly advise us what to do next? Thank you so much! Kind Regards, Elsa

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi Elsa.

It is normal to feel tired after an angiogram, but the more likely cause for his lethargy and lack of energy is his heart. If it does stop 4x or more during a day, he will not be able to live a normal life without a pacemaker. He will not be able to go about even the simplest of physical tasks, and so I would strongly recommend you go about preparing him for the pacemaker, it will be life changing for him.

Best wishes.
