Is Wave Of Pressure Like Pain In Head, Ears, Behind Eyes After Hard Hit On Head Concerning?

So this morning I hit my head pretty hard right on the back towards the top...throughout the day I ve had waves of pain in my head in the sides slightly above the ears, behind my eyes, kind of like pressure, and it hurts when I chew. I am slightly worried but I m by sure because in the spot where I hit my head...there is no tenderness or pain. Could this be serious?

Hi, I understand your concern and I'll try to help you. Pain in the skull at the site of trauma, associated with pain when chewing may indicate a fracture in one of the skull bones.

The high energy cranial trauma can cause fractures in the skull bone, as intracranial bleeding subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma and epidural hematoma, and brain injuries like cerebral concussion. In your case, the description is not compatible with high-energy trauma, but persistent pain and the pain worsens with mastication may indicate a bruise on chewing musculature or even a fracture of the skull bones.

So I suggest you look for the emergency room to better investigate and rule out any risk of complications.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help you. Wish you good health.
