Is Vomiting Up Of Bile A Sign Of Digestive Issues?

My son does not have a fever. He is vomiting, a clear yellow liquid. Nothing on his stomach. When he is not vomiting he seems to feel a little crummy but not as bad as one would think when vomiting is involved. Any ideas, a quick stomach bug perhaps?....

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Bilious vomiting (vomiting of bile) has to be evaluated thoroughly as it can be a sign of serious conditions like liver or pancreas related problems.

Consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated. Sometimes simple gastroenteritis can mimic bilious vomiting and produce greenish vomiting.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
