Is Vaginal Irritation A Side Effect Of Unprotected Sexual Intercourse?

I ve had unprotected sex with my boyfriend for the pass four-five days and he would ejaculate inside of me. This is my ovulation week as well. My vagina is kind of irritated. The discharge is clear with a mild odor. When I wipe I see brown specks. My vagina doesn t itch but it s a slight burning sensation. What s going on?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Discharge per vaginum and irritation in vagina is suggestive of infection.
Vaginal infection is common in sexually active women.
I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and start anti-microbial treatment to control the infection.
I would suggest you to practise safe sex till the infection is controlled.
Practising safe sex will help to prevent recurrence of infection in future also.

Thanks and take care
