Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My Uric acid level always used to be above normal range.I am taking Zyloric tablet 100mg for some months along with Ecosprin-75.My Uric acid level is 6.1 now but I am having continuous pain on the top of my right foot and sometimes in the sole of the same foot too.Kindly advise what to do.Thanks
Uric acid in women can be up to 6 so in your case it is very little over the upper norm. On the other hand Zyloric tablets help reduce uric acid. Ecosprin is aspirin and is found to increase uric acid levels- still patients that use it generally take it for important preventive measures in diabetes, hypertension or heart conditions so I would recommend you not to stop it unless your doctor recommends so.
To conclude: - pain in the foot and sole do not seem related to uric acid unless there is redness and swelling in the area (signs of gout) - your uric acid levels are not too high and on the other hand some patients can have gout even with normal uric acid - Zyloric tablet helps reduce uric acid in blood, ecosporin might increase it but because it does not seem very likely you are having gout (arthritis related to uric acid) it is best to talk with your doctor related to its use.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
