Is Ultrasound And Mammogram Recommended To Test Lumps In Breast?
Hi my dr felt a small lump in one of my breast. I had noticed it a few months ago before my periods and then later. It appeard larger right before my cycles. Dr asked me to get a mamo and ultra sound. The radiologist asked me to follow up with a biopsy, since the lump was solid. As i ws leaving he said i should not worry as he beileves it is fibroadenoma and. He is ordering a biopsy just to be sure. I am waiting on my result but im very nervous. I am 34 with 2 kids 6 and 3. No family history. Can you please help me understand how accurate ultra and mammo results are
Hidden Lump in the breast can be detected by mammography. it also identifies the texture of the mass. Also can dectect this type of tumour masses in other areas of breast. Ultrasound measures the size and position of the mass. It also tells whether there are any masses in the vicinity of the breast , any spreding which will rule out whether it is carcinogenic. Be positive. Your doctor has said he believes it as fibroadenoma, which is simple benign mass. once it is removed you are completely fine. My best wishes with you
