Is Twitching And Pulsation In Legs Caused By Playing Tennis?

Hi i'm 20 year old male, with height of about 175cm and weight 55kg

In the last few weeks i noticed that i get twitching in my leg muscles. If i lay flat and relax, it still twitches and sometimes pulsates. I've started playing tennis lately is that somehow connected? Should i see a doctor?

Hi.
I've gone through your query and I can understand your anxiety.

Twitching of muscles can occur after physical activity, which commonly affects the arms, legs, and back.

After exercise, muscle fatigue or electrolyte imbalance can occur which results in twitching . As electrolytes play a major role in muscle contraction, its loss would affect the muscle fibers. Also lactic acid accumulation in muscles during exercise can result in the same.

Other factors like stress & anxiety also causes muscle twitches which are reffered as “nervous ticks.”

I advice you to
- Have balanced diet with adequate dietary supplements to fullfill the deficiencies.
- exercising moderately & do proper warmups
- keep yourself hydrated
- Have adequate sleep & rest & stressfree.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
