Is Tubectomy A Safe Contraceptive Option?

Hello Doctor I have a question regarding tubectomy. My wife is scheduled to delivery a baby on 9th march.It is our second child. She is aged 38 years. We are planning to opt for tubectomy. Could you please advise us on these matter or you can also recommend a alternative contraceptive options. Thanks, Balakrishna.

Hi,

Yes, tubectomy is a safe contraceptive method so is vasectomy if you want the alternative of the same kind, even vasectomy is easier and safer.

But keep in mind it is a permanent contraceptive as your wife may have almost next 5-7 years of fertility she will be not able to make children though there is no sexual issue at all.

There are many methods of contraceptives it is up to you which one you select.
