Is Tonsillectomy Advisable For Recurring Sore Throat And Tonsilitis?

Hi doctor ..myself Amit..i am suffering from sore throat and tonsils problem frequently. doctor has given me following medicine- 1) CLIVER-C 200MG 2) SIGNOFLAM 3)PANTOLEX-DSR 4) ADMONT-LC What is the use of these medicines? Is it recommended to do operation and remove tonsils? Thanks !

Hi dear ,

As per your query you have recurring sore throat and tonsillitis . Well this is very common problem and this occur when infection is left untreated or low body immunity . Your doctor has prescribed right medicine . Complete your course properly as per prescription . Tonsillectomy is done after no treatment remains effective or tonsils start bleeding or start interfering with with function swallowing and breathing . I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles or betadine gargles 2-3 times a day and start vitamin C tablet for 10 days .
