Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been taking meds (Efferor ER or cymbalta) for depression for the past 10 years. I have been better off and on but now it seems it is worse than ever. The past 2 years I have been so very tired ALL the time. Most days I just sit and play Sudoku puzzles or read a little. Its so difficult for me to do any housework because of the tiredness and because not cleaning my house as I used to doesn't even bother me. I pretty tired of living like this. My question is; is this tiredness part of the depression? My thyroid has been checked numerous times in the past year and it always is fine. I am 74 and have ALWAYS have been healthy.
Feeling tired easily or easy fatiguability can be due to various reasons. If you are already a known case of depressive disorder, it could be possible that your symptoms have re-appeared. There are many medical causes for the same like anaemia etc. A detailed examination would aid in diagnosis. It is advisable you consult your physician or psychiatrist at the earliest.
Hope this helps,
Dr A Rao
