Is There Any Pain Medication That Is Better Than Ultram For Treating Back Pain And Broken Hip In A 92-year-old?

My aunt (who is 92 years old and has a heart condition and ocpd) has been complaining of pain in her back and sides (she is recovering from a broken hip about 2 months ago) and her doctor has prescribed Ultram (tramadol). I'm concerned about the possible side effects that could increase some of her existing conditions. Is there a better pain medication for an older person - Tylenol doesn't do anything for her.
thanks! Bobbie

Hello,

Depending upon her health condition Tramadol is suitable for cardia patients with old age . But you can try Percocet but it may cause constipation or urine retention or dysnea in this age. Fluoxrtin can be used under your doctor advice.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat him with appropriate pain medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further

Take care
