Is There Any Correlation Between PCOS And Greying Of Hair?

I am female, 27 years old. I have been having white/grey hair for the last two years. I have around 20 white hair now. When I checked dermatologist, it was suggested I take altris gel . I also have pcod. Is there any relation between pcod and greying? What could be done to prevent further greying?

Hi,

PCOD can cause thinning of hairs but is not known to affect melanin cells (which give black colour to hairs).

Apart from PCOD certain deficiencies (proteins, vitamin B6, B12, Biotin, vitamin D3, vitamin E & Copper) are known to cause early greying. Smoking and carelessness about hair care are known to hasten hair greying. Takings hair care, fulfilling deficiencies are the ways to prevent the progress of the problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
