Is There Any Alternative Way Of Treatment For RPF?

My brother in law is suffering from idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis(RPF) and had been on regular bilateral DJ stent change since 2010. He had been on immunosuppressant. I want to know Doctor that, is this the remedial measure for this type of treatment which will continue forever. Is there any alternative way of treatment ? Can the patient be treated with Homeopathy in parallel to recover from this RPF . M.Chatterjee

Your brother in law is facing problem of Retroperitoneal Fibrosis with involvement of ureters making it necessary to put D.J stent repeatedly to maintain the patency of ureters and flow of urine from kidneys in to bladder .

The Retro Peritoneal Fibrosis is a progressive inflammatory disease of unknown etiology which involves retro peritoneum and gradually causes compression of ureters and there by obstruct the flow of urine from kidneys to bladdder .

Unfortunately as the etiology is unknown there are no medications that will cure the disease permanently .

Recently surgical procedure what is called as Uroterolysis has been practiced world wide and have been giving satisfactory and longer lasting results .

I have no knowledge about Homeopathy hence unable to make any comment .
