Is There An Alternative To Tube Feeding As The Latter Leads To Vomiting In A 43 Yr Old Male With Severe CP?
My brother a 43 year old with severe CP just recently began a lot of gagging, almost all his eating is through a feeding tube. The gagging sometime leads to vomiting, and sometimes he is ok for a few days. Do you have any other suggestions as to why or remedy?
there are spray available which helps in decreasing gag reflex. These contain lignocaine and can be used in cases of tube irritation. If he is not able to take food by tube than IV nutrition is an option but not effective for long term use.
