Is There A Remedy For Excessive Sweating And Anxiety?
Hello Doctor, I am 27/M. I have been sweating a lot since many years now, even in normal temperature days. I sweat even when I am not nervous or anxious mainly in forehead and armpits region. I have been drinking almost 3 litres of water daily. Please provide me a remedy for this as sometimes I feel embarrassed due to this. Would really appreciate if you could prescribe me Anitperspirant medicine easily available in medical stores in India.

Hi. The antidepressant medicines are prescription drugs hence can not be written here. Excessive sweating at forehead and in armpits is due to excessive autonomous nervous system activity. Armpit sweating can be controlled by local surgery or cutting the nerve supply.

Excessive sweating may be due to anxiety, hyperthyroidism or naturally high metabolic rate. You should get TSH level, plus screen for anxiety on Hamilton's Anxiety Rating Scale . If every thing is normal, then there can be no medicine.
