Is There A Relation Between Reflux And Excision Of A Melanoma?

Could my friend s recent diagnosis of reflux and her recent excision of a melanoma in her back be related. She was waking up at night with coughing and this was the symptom of heartburn. She had 100 stitches when her melanoma below her shoulder was removed.
