Is There A Difference Between Ondem 4 Mg And Ondem MD-4?

Is there a difference between Ondem 4 mg and Ondem MD-4? I am 12 weeks pregnant, I was adviced Ondem 4 mg by my Gynae in my 8th week, I am still taking it, because the nausea won t stop. My Chemist did not have Ondem 4 mg so he gave me Ondem MD -4. Is it OK to use Ondem MD 4 for nausea and morning sickness?

Hello,

There is no difference between the two except for their mode of administration.

Ondem-4 and Ondem MD-4 are the brand formulations of generic drug Ondansetron commonly prescribed to prevent nausea and vomiting.

Ondem is taken orally and swallowed with a glass of water to be absorbed from the intestines.

Whereas Ondem-MD ('mouth dissolving') tablet is placed on the tongue for a few seconds to allow it to dissolve, and then swallowed.

It is preferred in those who can not swallow the entire tablet. Both are equally effective in the treatment of morning sickness.
