Is The Rabies Vaccination Required After A Squirrel Bite?

Hello. Today I caught a squirrel in a trap with peanuts. I put my finger in the cage after I caught him, and he bit my finger. I have read on rabies and it seems that squirrels rarely ever have rabies and do not carry it. It is a small wound, on the tip of my finger. Also, the squirrel ate all of the peanuts in the trap. I have heard one of the main rabies symptoms is not having the ability to swallow? This couldn t be true because he ate all of the peanuts. Should I get the rabies vaccine? Is it necessary? Thanks.
