Is The Lump Under The Tongue Malignant?

A friend of mine found a balloon like growth a week ago under her tongue. It is being removed by an oral surgeon on Thursday. In the last week since finding it, it has almost doubled in size and it is now turning gray on one part of it. Is there anyway I can post a picture for one of the doctors to see what I am talking about? We don't have a good feeling and think it may be cancerous but I would like an oncologist opinion since she's only seen oral surgeons thus far.

As per your complain a balloon like lump under the tongue an be most commonly be a Mucocele that is a mucous cyst and is formed due to ruptured duct of the salivary gland leading to accumulation of mucous into the soft tissues and thus forming a lump or due to clogging of the duct of the salivary gland leading to formation of a mucous filled lump..

It is completely harmlessl and is not a sign of any malignancy or cancer..
You should not worry and move ahead to get it removed surgically without any problem..
