Is The Absence Of New Nail Post An Injury A Concern?

I have a partial nail avulsion resulting from trauma to the area directly behind the cuticle. The hematoma has partially cleared, but now I can see the back of the nail emerging from where the cuticle would be, as there is no longer a cuticle. Does this condition of having no new nail emerging require attention or will it take care of itself?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It will take time to regrow new nail. If it takes too long, better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
