Is Taking Aspirin Advisable While On Tambocor After Mitral Valve Replacement When Diagnosed With Sinus Tachycardia?
Good Day My mother has recently had a biological mitral value replacement she also suffers from sinus tachycardia she is currently on a drug called Tambocor Generic Name: flecainide she is wanting to fly an 18 hr flight and was told to take aspirin is this advised?

Aspirin does not prevent deep vein thrombosis related to a long flight. From the other hand, it is advisable to start an anticoagulant even for prevention of stroke or cardioembolic events caused by arrhythmia. For this reason, I recommend discussing with her doctor on the possibility of starting an oral anticoagulant (Apixaban, Edoxaban) to help prevent future embolic events.
