Is Taking Vitcofol Instead Of Tonoferon Safe For Iron Deficiency?

Sir my son is 4mon old and has 9.6hemoglobin with low mch and MCV .. doc said he anaemic iron deficiency and prescribed us Tornoferon syrup(2.5ml a day) but we stoped it coz syrup trouble him gas and we now switch to vitcofol drops 20drops a day .. my qustion is that vitcofol is perfect substitute of Tornoferon syrup??

I understand your concern.
Tonoferon drops is composed of iron, lysine hydrochloride, vitamin and folic acid.
Vitcofol drops contains folic acid, vitamin B12 and nicotinamide. Vitcofol does not contain iron.
Since your son needs mainly iron to treat the deficiency along with other essential hemopoietic vitamins, it would be advisable to administer Tonoferon drops as prescribed.
